Bonnie Levine co-leads the firm’s International Practice Group and advises on all aspects of managing a global workforce, specializing in implementing sustainable workplace change. She counsels a wide range of clients from tech startups to Fortune 500 companies, handling international expansion, cross-border global mobility, and buy- and sell-side M&A; she has served in a fractional general counsel capacity for companies in the non-profit, municipal, and startup sectors.
Workplace investigations and trainings are a significant focus of Bonnie’s practice. Bonnie holds certificates in workplace investigations, behavioral economics, executive coaching, and diversity & inclusion management. In addition to conducting external workplace investigations, she helps employers design and manage internal investigation processes and concern intake policies, prioritizing trust-building in the workforce. She specializes in workplace training sessions for individuals and groups, including executive coaching sessions that empower leaders with compliance competence and leverage behavioral economics principles to optimize positive impact. Bonnie is also a recognized thought leader on workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion laws, and coauthored a 2022 article in Harvard Business Review “To Drive Diversity Efforts, Don’t Tiptoe Around Your Legal Risk.”
A former federal district court clerk, Bonnie resolves and litigates disputes involving civil rights (including Title VII and 42 USC 1981), wage-hour issues, contract claims, and privacy issues, with experience representing small employers, large employers, and individuals.
Representative Experience
- Advised on and oversaw implementation of global diversity, equity, inclusion surveys, including for 60,000-employee manufacturer / distributor
- Designed / oversaw COVID response protocols for large multinational employers
- Conducted highly sensitive and complex investigations with witnesses in multiple countries (including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, PRC, and Canada); involving key personnel (including country managers, top HR leaders, and CEOs); and spanning a wide range of issues (including sexual harassment, power harassment / bullying, discrimination and workplace bias, regulatory fraud, kickbacks, and conflicts of interest)
- Conducted compliance audits and climate assessments
- Implemented global reductions in force, including onsite exercises in Asia-Pacific region
- Coached individual VP and C-suite-level executives, proactively or as part of post-investigation remedial measures
- Designed and delivered global workplace trainings on a range of topics including sexual harassment, bullying, respectful-workplace, retaliation, and cross-border workforce compliance.
