Potomac Law Welcomes Viresh Patel

We are pleased to announce that Viresh R. Patel has joined us as a Counsel in our Patent group.

Mr. Patel's practice includes drafting and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, medical device, computer, software, and business method arts. He also has experience with appeals, reexamination proceedings, and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Patel began his career as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patents related to various aspects of data systems including data storage, retrieval, and security. His experience as a patent examiner helps Mr. Patel expedite prosecution and ultimately secure favorable patent rights for his clients.

Mr. Patel gained experience at AmLaw and boutique law firms while building his expertise in patent law. Throughout his career, Mr. Patel has represented clients of varying sizes in both budding and established technologies. He particularly relishes the opportunity to tap into this broad experience to tailor strategy positions that further the individual goals of each client.

Mr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Florida. A graduate of the George Washington University Law School, Mr. Patel was a staff member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal as a law student.
