PLG is pleased to announce the appointment of Senwan Akhtar as Chair of the New Jersey Lawyer magazine Editorial Board. The official magazine of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the New Jersey Lawyer magazine is dedicated to covering substantive areas of New Jersey law and is circulated to 16,000 members of the NJSBA. Each issue of the New Jersey Lawyer magazine focuses on a particular area of law, showcasing informative articles by authorities in the field. The appointment was made by NJSBA President Norberto A. Garcia.
Ms. Akhtar has served on the Editorial Board of the New Jersey Lawyer magazine since 2011. In her new role as Chair, she will lead the Editorial Board in overseeing the bi-monthly publication of the magazine. Each edition of the magazine is available to the broader legal community on the NJSBA’s digital platform. Serving alongside Ms. Akhtar as Vice Chair of the Editorial Board will be Veronica Finkelstein.
Ms. Akhtar concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and commercial real estate law. She represents clients on mergers and acquisitions transactions and general corporate matters. Ms. Akhtar advises lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions. She also represents clients on all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and the negotiation of leases for office, industrial and retail properties. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.S. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
