We are pleased to announce that Michael J. Lennon (NY office) and Douglas E. Ringel (DC office) have joined us as Partners in our Litigation and Patent Practices.

Mr. Lennon’s practice focuses on complex litigation, licensing and business transactions relating to intellectual property rights. Over his decades of practicing law, Mr. Lennon has represented and acted as an advisor to numerous multinational technology companies in a variety of industries. In transactional matters, Mr. Lennon acts as both legal counsel and as a strategic advisor to his clients, and he has negotiated numerous agreements relating to the acquisition, licensing and monetization of intellectual property. He has appeared as trial counsel in more than 125 patent infringement, trade secret, licensing dispute and patent-antitrust lawsuits in the United States federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Ringel represents clients in litigation before federal courts, in post-grant proceedings and patent prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in providing strategic advice for corporate due diligence, transactions, and other matters. With experience as a Patent Examiner and two decades of holding senior intellectual property law firm positions, Mr. Ringel has helped companies with the full range of their patent issues.

Mr. Ringel has particular experience in medical device technologies, having represented clients in areas including cardiovascular stents, heart valve repair devices, catheters, endoscopic systems, neurosurgery devices, spinal implants, intraocular implants, ophthalmic surgical systems and instruments, and diagnostic equipment. Mr. Ringel also has significant experience in other mechanical and electromechanical devices, packaging, and manufacturing.

Prior to joining Potomac Law, Mr. Lennon and Mr. Ringel were long-time partners together at the intellectual property powerhouse boutique Kenyon & Kenyon LLP. In recent years, Mr. Lennon continued his practice at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, while Mr. Ringel continued his practice at Kacvinsky Daisak Bluni PLLC.
