Potomac Law Group is pleased to announce that it has again been recognized as a leading trademark firm in 2023 WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, the industry’s definitive publication that identifies the top trademark professionals in key jurisdictions around the globe. The firm improved on its already impressive 2022 rankings.

WTR undertakes exhaustive qualitative research, identifying top firms and individuals based on their depth of expertise, market presence and sophistication of work.

“Potomac Law Group promises low overheads and an efficient, cost-effective service from some of the industry’s most seasoned trademark practitioners. The firm was ranked Silver for both prosecution and strategy and enforcement and litigation.

Five Potomac Law partners have also been recognized again this year in the individual rankings as leaders in their field, garnering an impressive five Gold rankings, along with three Silver and two Bronze accolades. With two partners ranked at the national level, Potomac Law is one of a very select few firms to have more than one person achieve this level of recognition.

She is also ranked Gold in the competitive DC Metro area for both Prosecution/Strategy and Enforcement/Litigation, one of only two women to achieve Gold in both.

She again ranks in the Gold band in the DC metro area for Prosecution/Strategy, and Silver band for Enforcement/Litigation, and is also now ranked Silver at the national level. Satterthwaite “is a renowned trademark counsellor…. An all-rounder with experience on both sides of the contentious divide, Satterthwaite is solid choice for world famous brands intent on high-quality expertise and a dexterous approach,” according to WTR. Ms. Satterthwaite, along with Ms. Matheson, is one of only a handful of women to be ranked Silver or Gold for both enforcement and prosecution in the DC Metro Area, a testament to their versatility as a one-stop resource for all global branding needs.

Bonny Plosker is once again ranked as Silver. She “boasts 25+ years’ experience, including significant stints in-house at some of America’s most famous global media companies. This experience has given her a major edge in licensing transactions and monetisation advice. She keeps a close eye on service users’ bottom lines,” WTR notes.

Todd Bontemps, a Silicon Valley IP veteran, is recognized in the Bronze category. “A social media and technology whizz, businesses look to Bontemps for help in litigation, at the TTAB and for UDRP proceedings,” according to WTR. Todd has specialized in trademarks and global strategic branding matters for 30 years.

“Up-and-coming talent” to watch, soft-IP litigation partner Elissa Reese is ranked for the first time in the Bronze category. “With experience across the range of soft intellectual property, Reese is quickly establishing a formidable litigation and enforcement practice,” according to WTR.

We are delighted to be recognized again this year by the WTR 1000,” said managing partner Benjamin Lieber. “To be ranked alongside some of the most respected law firms in the country is a testament to the strength our team of trademark attorneys who skillfully navigate the complexities of trademark law for both our U.S. and international clients.”
