Potomac Law Partner Senwan Akhtar Named to the 2024 Women’s Edition of Super Lawyers for the New York Metropolitan Area

Potomac Law is pleased to announce that Partner Senwan Akhtar has been named to the 2024 Women’s Edition of Super Lawyers for the New York Metropolitan Area. The New York Metro Super Lawyers list is a distinction given to only five percent of attorneys in the New Metro region.

Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.

Akhtar concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and real estate law and recently earned the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) credential. She represents clients in corporate mergers and acquisitions transactions, data privacy and general corporate matters. Akhtar advises lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions. She also represents clients on all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and the negotiation of leases for office, industrial and retail properties. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.S. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Akhtar has been named to the Super Lawyers list in the Business/Corporate practice area in New Jersey (2018 to 2021) and the New York Metro area (2022-2023). She was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2012 to 2016.
