Potomac Law is pleased to announce that Roberta Anderson Sutton, the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Risk Management Practice Leader, will be a featured speaker at RISKWORLD™, the RIMS 2022 annual conference and exhibition in San Francisco, which takes place from April 10 to 13.  

Ms. Sutton will present two sessions at RISKWORLD™, which is the largest and most comprehensive global risk management event.  

Ms. Sutton’s Tuesday April 12th session, Ransom, Regulation, Kinetics & Biometrics: Cutting-Edge Insurance Solutions for Today’s Risk Landscape, will focus on cutting-edge insurance available to address evolving data privacy and cyber security-related threats—including ransomware, cyber extortion and social engineering—and best practices for maximizing insurance coverage and recovery. Ms. Sutton will be joined in this session by Mr. Chris Keegan, Cyber & Technology National Practice Leader at Beecher Carlson. 

Ms. Sutton’s Wednesday April 13th session, Your Ransom Risk Playbook: Attack Planning, Insurance & OFAC Compliance, will highlight how organizations can reduce their ransom risk exposure through security, training and incident planning, attack response and mitigation, and post-attack strategies, including maximizing insurance recovery and giving careful consideration to potential Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)-related issues. Ms. Sutton will be joined in this session by Mr. Thomas Chamberlin, Manager, Insurance & MFS at Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, and Mr. Chris Keegan, Cyber & Technology National Practice Leader at Beecher Carlson. 

Recently selected by the National Law Journal for inclusion as part its 2021 inaugural list of twenty-two nationwide Insurance Law Trailblazers, which honor recognizes and spotlights a select group of lawyers who have “made sweeping efforts to make a positive contribution” as “agents of change” in the insurance industry, Ms. Sutton is highly experienced and concentrates her practice in the areas of insurance recovery, risk management counseling, and emerging cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection-related issues, including incident planning and breach response, and management liability-related issues.  In addition to aggressively and successfully pursuing her clients' insurance recoveries in disputed insurance claims settings, Ms. Sutton counsels clients proactively on complex insurance placement and risk management issues. She is delighted to have been selected to serve on the Law360 2022 Cybersecurity & Privacy Editorial Board and to have coauthored the cybersecurity guide for executives, Navigating the Digital Age: The Definitive Cybersecurity Guide For Directors and Officers.
