PLG Partner Derek Adams represented Mohamed Bahi (“Bahi”), a former liaison to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who had been charged by the Department of Justice related to his alleged role in securing improper campaign contributions for the Adams’ campaigns.  After Bahi accepted a plea to resolve the matter, the Department of Justice argued at sentencing for Bahi to be incarcerated for a period of one year and a day.  PLG argued for leniency, advocating for a non-incarceration sentence, in part due to Bahi’s extensive track record of community service and charitable endeavors.  U.S. District Court Judge Dale Ho sided with the defense, sentencing Bahi to a period of probation and home confinement, as opposed to jail time.

In addition to Bahi, PLG also represented Erden Arkan, a construction company owner who had likewise been prosecuted by the Department of Justice related to allegedly improper campaign contributions made to the Eric Adams’ campaign.  Arkan’s case was handled by PLG partner Jon Rosen, who also secured a non-incarceration sentence for his client.

PLG is proud to have represented Bahi and Arkan in their high-profile prosecutions, and to have secured no jail time for either defendant.
