PLG proudly announces that founder and managing partner Ben Lieber has been named one of only four recipients of The Washington Post’s 2025 Top Workplaces Leadership Awards.

The prestigious program recognizes exceptional leaders who create workplaces defined by innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration. Lieber was cited specifically for establishing a flexible, remote-friendly firm supporting work-life balance for seasoned attorneys while cultivating a strong collaborative culture.

“Leadership often requires making big decisions without having all the answers upfront,” Ben explained. “It’s like poker—you rarely have perfect information. But if you consistently make thoughtful, principled decisions based on what you do know, you’ll come out ahead in the long run. That’s how I approach managing the firm, and it’s how we’ve built a culture of trust and shared purpose.”

Founded in 2011, PLG has grown to over 165 lawyers in 25 states, offering attorneys greater flexibility and control over their work, without sacrificing quality or collegiality. Lieber founded the firm after recognizing that many experienced lawyers were stepping away due to rigid schedules. “I thought surely someone would start a firm that would bring these things together,” he said—and that someone became PLG.

Under Ben’s leadership, PLG has achieved impressive results: a turnover rate of less than 5%, a presence in every major market from San Francisco to New York, and a reputation for being “a kinder, gentler” BigLaw alternative.
