Heidi Salow to Present at Forty-First National HIPAA Summit in 2024

Partner Heidi Salow will be a featured speaker at the Forty-First National HIPAA Summit in February. The HIPAA Summit is a virtual event and the leading conference on healthcare privacy, confidentiality, data security, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, HIPAA and state law compliance.

Heidi will speak on the topic "NIST Draft Guidance on HIPAA Security Rule: What Might It Mean for Your Organization?"

She will provide an overview of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) most recently released Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule: A Cybersecurity Resource Guide (Guide). The latest version of the Guide is designed to help entities “maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of electronic protected health information (ePHI).” While the Guide does not provide a checklist, it is designed to improve risk management surrounding ePHI.

Heidi will also address the scope and potential applicability of the Guide and how it might impact various types of organizations. Heidi’s session will be held on February 29, 2024 at 10:50 am.
