Our new model law firm is seeking a Patent Paralegal to assist with a full range of patent matters for a busy IP practice, including assisting with preparation, docketing, electronic filing, and portfolio management. This full-time position will be performed remotely.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Research and compile information pertaining to national and international intellectual property rights.
  • Prepare status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
  • Coordinate international filings with foreign law offices and/or other foreign entities.
  • Collaborate with Docketing Team to ensure due dates for actions, including responses, renewals, and payments of patent annuities in foreign countries are properly docketed and tracked.
  • Assist in intellectual property-related litigation.
  • Learn/develop technical proficiency in database use and management, internet/electronic research, and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
  • Independently organize and manage files.
  • Anticipate attorney needs.
  • Engage in occasional interaction with clients.
  • Stay informed of developments in the patent area.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of patent paralegal experience.
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently, and be an independent thinker.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally and provide exceptional service, internally and externally, at all times.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize workflow, and manage projects.
  • Ability to perform effectively with little or no supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.
