Otilia Gabor is a Partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property group. Ms. Gabor’s practice focuses on drafting utility patent applications, foreign and domestic patent prosecution, strategic patent counseling, reissue and re-examinations, patent validity and infringement opinions, and patent due diligence.

A multi-lingual attorney, Ms. Gabor has extensive knowledge and experience in patent concepts, practices, and procedures. Her strong interest in science and technology, coupled with her excellent analytical skills, provides a solid foundation on which her high-tech clients can trust their technologically complex patent applications. Having worked as a patent examiner at the USPTO, as well as a patent attorney in private practice, Ms. Gabor brings her vast expertise on both sides of the prosecution process to bear for her clients.

Ms. Gabor has represented companies at all stages of patent prosecution spanning a vast range of technologies including semiconductor devices and manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and optical systems and devices, image processing, medical and surgical devices, cancer treatment systems, manufacturing systems and processes, product packaging, nanotechnology, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, sensor design and sensor systems, and software applications.

During her seven years at the USPTO, Ms. Gabor reviewed patent applications in the field of invisible radiation detection, and in particular, infrared imaging, medical imaging, and UV detection. She also spent time as an extern at the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences (BPAI), the precursor to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). She has unique expertise in many other facets of practice at the USPTO, including interferences and re-examinations, and Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED) proceedings.
