Mitchell “Mitch” Shapiro is a Partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property group. A registered Patent Attorney, Mr. Shapiro has 40 years of experience practicing in all aspects of domestic and foreign patent prosecution, as well as patent reissue and reexamination proceedings, strategic patent counseling, patent opinions, and due diligence.

As a third-generation patent attorney, Mr. Shapiro has successfully prosecuted thousands of patent applications. He possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of patent prosecution and an ability to quickly understand a vast range of technologies.

Serving clients worldwide, Mr. Shapiro’s prosecution experience spans numerous fields, including semiconductor devices and manufacturing, automotive components and systems, optical components and systems and image processing, medical and surgical devices, analytical instruments, manufacturing systems, product packaging and shipping containers, heavy construction equipment, railway technologies, nanotechnology, industrial chemistry and foodstuffs, and many others. His prosecution efforts have significantly enhanced the commercial positions of his clients and have resulted in millions of dollars in licensing royalties.
