We are pleased to announce that George Dolina has joined the firm as Senior Counsel.

George Dolina is a patent attorney specializing in electrical, mechanical, and computer related inventions.  Mr. Dolina began his career in intellectual property law as a patent agent in 2007.  After graduating with honors from law school, he developed his expertise at leading IP boutiques prior to joining Potomac Law Group.  He has extensive experience in the areas of medical devices, digital content delivery, wireless communication, electro-optical devices, integrated circuits, semiconductors, signal processing techniques, electronic commerce, acoustic devices and video processing.  Mr. Dolina helps his clients obtain strategic protection for their inventions and minimize risks from their competitors’ patents.  He has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications and has first-chair experience at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, including a successful track record in post-grant proceedings such as inter partes review, covered business method review, and reexaminations. 

Mr. Dolina has a deep understanding of technology grounded in significant engineering experience.  Prior to his IP career, he designed signal processing algorithms, developed software, and conducted applied research in underwater acoustics, ad-hoc networking, anti-submarine warfare, and distributed sensor systems for DARPA and other DOD clients.  Mr. Dolina began his engineering career at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab as a graduate student researcher developing his master’s thesis in the area of knowledge-based decision support systems.

Mr. Dolina received his J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School in 2012.  He received both his M.Eng. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1999 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
