We are pleased to announce that Ed Wender has joined us as a Partner in our Real Estate and Finance, Corporate, and Outside General Counsel practice groups.
Mr. Wender has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate and general business counseling, representing a variety of borrowers with institutional lenders, Freddie Mac, HUD-insured loans and CMBS loan originators. His representations have involved a mix of clients from hotels, mixed use developments, automobile dealerships, and equipment dealerships to medical and other office buildings, multifamily apartments, and shopping centers. Mr. Wender currently acts as outside General Counsel to a business group of automotive, truck and equipment dealerships, and related businesses, and has provided general business counsel to a hotel management company. He has also provided counsel to both management companies and owners in connection with the negotiation of management agreements for municipally-owned hotels and private owners.
Mr. Wender is experienced in providing (for borrowers) and reviewing (for lenders) transactional opinions, including opinions for CMBS loans (non-consolidation opinions) and for securitizations (true sale opinions). He is a frequent panelist on matters relating to limited liability company operating agreements and other issues affecting these companies.
Prior to joining Potomac Law, Mr. Wender was a Partner at Venable LLP. He earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
