PLG is pleased to announce that Daanish Hamid has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, DC office. He leads an investigations, compliance, and commercial transactions practice that supports public companies and other clients with respect to sophisticated anti-corruption, international trade, and national security concerns.
Mr. Hamid brings to PLG extensive BigLaw experience and has led numerous matters in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. He previously served as a partner at prominent firms such as Winston & Strawn, Cooley, and DLA Piper.
He has a distinguished track record advising clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing laws, OFAC sanctions and embargoes, and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Mr. Hamid has negotiated multiple successful filings with CFIUS with respect to foreign direct investments and M&A transactions.
Mr. Hamid has an English law degree with honors from the University of Oxford and earned a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School, where he was a member of the International Law Review. His global legal experience positions him to provide unparalleled service to PLG’s clients.
